Belmont's historic Manor House, located on
the highest point in the area, was once part of the vast land
holdings of Lord Fairfax. Listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, the Manor House was built in 1799 by Ludwell Lee, nephew of
Richard Henry Lee and grandson of Francis "Lightfoot" Lee, both signers of the Declaration of
Independence.
Ludwell Lee was aide-de-camp to the General Marquis de Lafayette
during the Revolutionary War, and it is said, presented Ludwell with
the matching fireplace mantels that can still be seen in the Manor
House today. A stunning example of the Federal style of
architecture, the Manor House sets the tone for the
community's homes, which reflect its historic elegance and
luxury.

Belmont Country Club is a private community
that features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by the
legendary Arnold Palmer. The spectacular course is the centerpiece
of Belmont's amenities for
those who choose to take advantage of the limited number of resident
memberships currently being offered.
Measuring 7,212 yards from the back tees with a design that
incorporates the rolling Virginia countryside, the numerous tree-lined fairways and the
vast amount of wetland hazards, Belmont challenges and
delights all
levels of golfers.

the course.
The first hole will immediately give you a feel for the
character of the course. A par 4, it sits at one of the higher
elevations on the property and looks down a steep hill
leading from the Manor House with the Shenandoah Mountains in
the background. There is an almost 100-foot drop in elevation from tee to
green that will provide you with both a spectacular view and tee
shot.
At the bottom of the hill is a small landing area with trees lining both sides of the
fairway. The hole
is stunning in the spring with
hundreds of dogwoods, redbuds and serviceberry trees on every
side of the hole in bloom, giving it an Augusta National look.
Other amenities include a full-service Recreation Center with a 25-meter competition
pool, leisure pool and a children's pool. Also popular are tennis and basketball courts,
multi-purpose athletic fields and a volleyball pit. Fitness fans
can take advantage of the state-of-the-art indoor aerobic and fitness facilities.
