Wilderness Trail
Banner Elk, North Carolina

Wilderness Trail, NC
An exclusive, 1,000 acre golf community rising above 4,500 feet in the
Blue Ridge Mountains and offering 100-mile vistas across three states.

Description

Wilderness Trail is a modern community with luxury amenities and an outdoorsy spirit tucked into a National Park-like setting in the mountains of western North Carolina. Its Jim Fazio-Rick Robbins golf course heads a long list of upscale amenities.

Wildernesss Trail mountain views
Simply put: inspiring views.

Thoughtfully crafted to work in harmony with the natural environment, Wilderness Trail is a member of the Audubon Silver Signature Program. It’s the first and only community in its region to earn this distinction.

The championship course is woven through wooded valleys and across rushing streams with high peaks as its aiming points off the tee. Complementing the course is a Grand Lodge, a Sporting Complex and an architectural look that befits such an inspiring site.

Wilderness Trail stream
Wooded valleys and rushing streams punctuate the forested landscape at Wilderness Trail.

Rick Robbins developed the initial course routing and is working with co-designer Jim Fazio to produce a polished, playable challenge. Fazio brings the architectural skills that produced highly praised design work at Donald Trump's golf resorts worldwide

Fitness and Fun inside the Gates
The community’s Sporting Complex is an inviting and well-staffed facility where adults and children alike can enjoy tennis, squash, racquetball, swimming, complete spa and state-of-the-art fitness equipment--all surrounding a 50 foot climbing wall.

Sports & Spa Complex
Rendering of the Wilderness Trail Sports and Spa complex.

Unlike so many golf communities, Wilderness Trail has a set of recreation options to fully satisfy the younger set. Staff members oversee special classes, clinics, and family-themed tournaments to create a fun, community-based atmosphere.

Wilderness Trail biking
Like the name implies, Wilderness Trail offers opportunities for biking and hiking.

Wilderness Trail allows residents the chance to give a child or grandchild the gift of nature. With a private 1,000 acre gated park, returning from treks through the woods to arrive at your personal Cottage will conjure up images from America in earlier times.

Laced with 12 miles of pristine trails, the community serves as a gateway to nature. Marked paths follow trout streams and arrive at soothing waterfalls. It’s a chance to explore pristine woodlands and see the Blue Ridge as it appeared a century ago.

Wilderness Trail winter season
The views are just as spectacular in the winter season.

Indoor Comforts, Well-Earned
For those interested in less activity and more pampering, full-service spa services are available. One phone call sets up a massage or some relaxation in a Jacuzzi, steam room, or sauna. Salon services from facials to manicures create a luxury-resort atmosphere.

GreatLodge
Rendering of the Great Lodge which overlooks the golf course.

As part of a full golf membership, the Great Lodge features gourmet dining in a relaxed, family setting. Also home to the Golf Clubhouse, the Great Lodge overlooks the 1st and 18th holes, as well as the practice range and distant peaks and ridgelines.

Just like its golf course, the clubhouse is family-friendly, and includes a game room with organized activities for children of every age.
